Winning Web Application 2010
Thank you for submitting your club/federation website for recognition as an NFRW Winning Web. Initially, all submittals will be judged against six basic guidelines:
1. Easy to read
2. Easy to navigate
3. Easy to access
4. Consistent in layout and design
5. Quick to load
6. Updated frequently
On the last page of this application is a list of other website criteria and enhancements that may be considered as well.
When applying for Winning Web recognition in the NFRW Capital Connection e-Newsletter, applicants must answer the following questions and send your completed application via e-mail to the Website Assistance Committee. Click on envelope below for e-mail address.
Although assistance may be given by the club/federation member in charge of the website, actual applications for the Winning Web of the Week must be submitted by club/federation presidents and must include a statement verifying that this is the official website for the club/federation.
1. Is this club/federation a member in good standing with the NFRW? (Yes or No)
2. What is the website domain name or url?
Name and address of club or federation.
3. How many pages in the site?
a. Page names of up to ten pages that are the best on the website
4. Does the site have a password protected area? (Yes or No)
a. On what page do you log into the protected area?
b. What is the login and password? (This information will be kept confidential and will be used only by the website assistance committee to review your website.)
5. How often is this site updated?
6. Approximately how many hits per month does this site receive?
7. Are contact and message forms available on the site? (Yes or No) If yes, on what pages?
8. Does your club/federation have a member assigned to make digital photos at Republican Women events? (Yes or No)
9. What hosting company do you use?
a. Are you satisfied with their service? (Yes or No)
10. Is the site maintained by a member of your organization? (If yes, please list the individual’s name.)
11. Is the site built and maintained by an outside resource? (If yes, please list the business name.)
12. Do you use a template type site? (Yes or No)
13. Does your club or federation publish an e-newsletter? (Yes or No)

Applications will be evaluated by the Website Assistance Committee when they are received. In the event of numerous applications, it may take a few weeks to review all of the applications submitted. Winning websites will be posted on the Capital Connection.In browsing through hundreds of our websites during the past two years, we know that there are MANY great Republican Women Federation and club websites across this country. We look forward to reviewing your application.

Additional guidelines and / or enhancements for websites that may be considered when evaluating a website and application for recognition as NFRW Winning Web:
1. Easy to find site map
2. Auto stamp showing date page was last updated
3. Working internal navigation links across top, side, and/or bottom
4. All hyperlinks work
5. Easily viewable search form (e.g., Google or other)
6. No old or out-of-date info or events
7. Calendar of events
8. Easy to find contact (phone, email, mail address) info for club, president, webmaster or others
9. Readily accessible, working links for email addresses
10. Web form where visitors sign up for e-newsletters or notices of future events
11. List of all officers and committee chairs
12. Current news items or links to items of interest to Republican Women
13. For State Federations: list of chartered clubs, links to club websites
14. Links to important Republican sites in county/district/state
15. Effective utilization of color and graphics
16. Photos
