E-mail Petitions
Has anyone ever forwarded you an e-mail that has a petition attached to it? Well, these are called e-petitions and they usually deal with something that may be going wrong in the world. For instance, a few of the more recent ones have been for lowering gas prices and for our troops. So, when you get them, you probably feel compelled to sign your name to it and send it along to all your friends. That's all good, but do they really help at all?

Forwarding
Download: The Cleaner - a really neat program that does the job in a hurry! This free utility for cleaning up your e-mail is extremely popular.You know the drill. You get an e-mail from someone and it's full of carets (>>>), badly formatted, and basically a mess. If an e-mail is worthy of forwarding, it is our duty to clean it up and make it look neat before forwarding. Just copy and paste that badly formatted text into this utility, click the smiley face, and it will remove all those carets and attempt to rebuild the paragraphs (it really does an amazing job).
Again, this is 100% free and seems to work under all versions of Windows. It's about a half meg in size, so it will download quickly (dial up modems should have it in less than 5 minutes). PLEASE clean off all of those exposed e-mail addresses before forwarding. When sending to your e-mail list, you should use the BCC (blind carbon copy) feature in your Outlook Express and other e-mail software. Learn more about this www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/418

forward" check them out at www.snopes.com or other Urban Legend and Hoax sites.

Outlook Address BookQ:
I often send all my e-mails to the same group of people. Is there an easier way to do that rather than typing their addresses out each time? Any advice you have would be great. Thanks!A:
Excellent question! All you need to do is group it! If you usually send the same e-mails to the same group of people, you can make it easier by creating a group for them. With group e-mailing, you don't have to search again and again for each person you want to send an e-mail to. Maybe you're in a club and you want to e-mail every club member. Put them all in a group and save yourself some time! Maybe you send certain e-mails only to your family members. Make a group for them and so on!To do this in Outlook Express, go to Tools and open your Address Book. Now, click on the New icon and choose New Group. Make a name for your particular group and type it in. Next, click on the Select Members button. This will bring up all the names you have stored in your address book. You can then highlight each name you want to be placed in the group. For example, you have a card club and you want Mary, Betty, Judy, Ann, Nadene and Lisa in that group. Find their e-mail addresses and hit the Select button after each one. (You can also use Shift + a mouse click to highlight them all at the same time). Either way, click on the Select button to get all the names in the group.
After you're done, their names will appear under the Members panel. Click OK twice and your group's name will show up in the
left Contacts pane.When you want to e-mail that group, open up a new message like normal, go to Tools, Select Recipients. That will bring up a list of all your contacts and you can scroll through them to find your group's name. Highlight the group name, hit the To: button and OK. This will then bring your group's name into the To: section of your e-mail. It won't show everyone's e-mail address in a line like usual, but all the addresses are embedded within the group name.
You can then type out your e-mail and send it off. All your group
members will receive it and it will save you a ton of time. Give it a try today!
